Effect of Ca Levels on Performance Bone Ash and Ileal Digestibility of Ca and P in Broilers Fed Phytase and Xylanase

When Ca levels were reduced in broiler diets supplemented with phytase and endo-ß-1,4-xylanase, there was a large positive impact on performance and on Ca and P digestibility. This yielded a higher P matrix for OptiPhos Plus. However, caution must be taken when reducing dietary Ca levels as the requirements for bone formation might be higher than the requirements for optimal animal performance.
